Luxor Hotel Review

Luxor Hotel Review
May 11, 2020 /
My husband and I got married in Las Vegas at the Luxor Hotel at the wedding chapel on site. The wedding experience was amazing. I had visited Luxor several times on my past trips to Vegas when we would hotel/casino hop on the strip. I thought the Luxor was gorgeous on the inside and outside. However, unfortunately my impressions of the pyramid room did not match up to the beauty of the exterior of the hotel and the common areas.

Rooms

There are different sections of the Luxor so some rooms are more updated than others. I HIGHLY recommend staying in the tower rooms opposed to the updated pyramid rooms. Definitely ask before booking if you are guaranteed an updated room. We stayed in a pyramid room for our wedding, which was not updated. My mother and children also stayed in a pyramid room. (They had to be moved once because the ceiling had a water leak. However, Luxor promptly moved them). I have stayed in Mandalay Bay, Paris and Bellagio rooms, and the older not updated pyramid room at the Luxor was rated at the bottom of my list. However, I would definitely stay at Luxor again by staying in a different room.

Food that I tried:

The Buffet at Luxor- The buffet was delicious and if you are into an adult refreshment, they even offer an unlimited Happy Hour for a low price. My children loved the food at the buffet, even my pickiest of eaters!

Starbucks- A shout out to the Starbucks that saved me the morning of my wedding! Read the Pyramid Cafe post to see what happened.

Pyramid Cafe- The food was excellent and portion sizes are great. The only problem I had was the morning of my wedding. My husband and his side of the family went to eat but I stayed in the hotel room with my side of the family to order room service so we would not see each other the morning of our wedding. Unfortunately because my husband booked the hotel rooms in his name, I was unable to order room service. I asked if I could pay over the phone with my own money, and they would not allow me to. I explained my husband was at their restaurant right now, and he was unable to go to the front desk to add my name to the permission to allow me to charge to the room. Fortunately, there is a Starbucks in the hotel, so my mother bought us food from Starbucks.

Blizz– My children and I ordered drinks from here a couple of times during our Luxor stay. The smoothies are delicious!

Casino- My husband and I like to play Blackjack and there were a couple of $10 tables. According to the Luxor website there were $5 tables. There are several slot machines and table games. You can see what Luxor has to offer here.

Pools- Unfortunately we did not get to use the pool because it was winter! The Luxor boasts over 19000 square feet of pool.

There is a breezeway you can take to get to the Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. There is also a tram that you can take to get to the Excalibur. We took my kids to the Excalibur to use the arcade.

All in all, I loved planning my wedding at the Luxor, and I would stay here again if I selected an upgraded room.

Easy Vegas Wedding, Yes I Got Married in Las Vegas

Want to get married in Las Vegas or elope? That’s exactly what I did, we got married at the Luxor Las Vegas! My husband and I had traveled to Las Vegas a few times before to see the amazing Las Vegas shows, lights, scenery, and buffets and top notch restaurants. Of course, I may have played a little bit of video poker while he played a few hands of Blackjack at the tables. We aren’t going to Vegas to gamble. There is so much to do in the city and surrounding area, but I will cover that in another post.

My husband and I walked the Las Vegas strip scouting for hotels that had a wedding chapel. We were also interested in a hotel that seemed more kid friendly (arcades, pool, etc) since we planned to stay at the hotel our wedding would take place. Most Vegas hotels have their wedding packages on their website. We were looking for affordable not breaking the bank wedding packages. After much research, we decided on Luxor Las Vegas.

The Luxor Wedding packages in my opinion are more affordable than many other hotels on the strip. We went with the Elegance wedding package. You can see a PDF of the wedding packages offered at the Luxor here. We decided to get this package because it offered more photography time, and photos were the most important part of the wedding package to me. Besides the fact that the package was considerably less money than other hotels, it was VERY easy to plan a Vegas wedding with Luxor. Once you book your wedding package with Luxor, you will receive login information on their website to begin planning your dream wedding! You can select flowers, music, and several other options. Want Elvis to walk you down the aisle? There is an option for that also!

My experience with the Luxor wedding chapel was top notch. It was a beautiful chapel. When I arrived on my wedding day, the coordinator greeted me with my beautiful wedding bouquet and took my small wedding party to the dressing room. I did not purchase a flower girl basket, but they allowed my daughter to borrow one for the big day since we had ordered the flower petals but no basket. When the time came to walk down the aisle, everything had gone perfectly. After the short ceremony, the photographer took several photos. He was very patient and kind. I would absolutely do it all over again. If you want a stress free wedding, I highly recommend booking a wedding package with Luxor. I would do it all over again.
